This series consists of correspondence, photographs and publications covering the period 1970-1987 with most 1981-1986. Correspondence files of the academic dean comprise the bulk of the series. Major correspondents include Dean Robert A. Waller, Provost David Maxwell, and department heads George William Koon (English), Alan Schaffer (History), Harry Eugene Stewart (Languages), John Harrison Butler (Music), Charles Wythe Dunn (Political Science), Eugene Hugo Galluscio (Psychology), and Richard Francis Larson (Sociology). Other files document the activities of the departments within the College and the academic programs among various divisions of the university. Some of the topics covered are General Education requirements, Honors and Awards, Study Abroad, and Summer School.
